Removal & Correction Request

We honor reasonable removal and correction requests at no charge. Tell us what needs attention and our team will review it.

Our removal policy

Always free — no fees, ever

We never charge to correct or remove information, and we do not publish mugshots. Anyone who asks you to pay to take down a listing is not affiliated with CurrentPrisonList.

The CurrentPrisonList mirrors jail roster and booking records that government agencies publish for the public. We take accuracy and dignity seriously, and we review every reasonable request to correct or remove a page on our site promptly and at no cost.

What we can and cannot do

What we can do: correct inaccurate details we display, remove or de-index a specific page on this site, and prioritize requests involving safety concerns, sealed or expunged records, victims of crime, or clear factual errors.

What we cannot do:change the official government record itself. Because our information comes from public sources, an arrest or booking may continue to exist at the source agency and may reappear from that source even after we act. For a permanent fix, you may also need to contact the originating sheriff's office, court, or records department — and, where eligible, pursue sealing or expungement through the court.

How the process works

  1. Submit the form below with the exact page URL and a clear description of what should be corrected or removed.
  2. We review your request, typically within a few business days, and may follow up by email if we need to confirm details.
  3. We take action — correcting, removing, or de-indexing the page — and reply to let you know the outcome.
  4. For a permanent record change, we'll point you to the source agency or court where the original record is maintained.

Common questions

Will the record come back after you remove it?

It can. Because we sync from public sources, a record removed only on our site may reappear if it still exists at the source agency. A permanent fix usually requires action at the originating agency or court.

Do you charge anything?

No. Corrections and removals are always free. Be cautious of any third party demanding payment to remove a listing.

How long does it take?

Most requests are reviewed within a few business days. Complex cases or those needing verification may take a little longer.

What about my privacy?

We use the contact details you submit only to handle your request. See our privacy policy for full details.
