Search US rosters and UK/Europe prison guides

US counties with a live roster open an inmate table. Counties without one open a written jail guide. UK and European results are facility guides with official locators — they do not list prisoners.

Type a county, jail or state name — or browse rosters by state and the county A–Z list.

How to find someone in a county jail

Jail rosters in the United States are published county by county, so the fastest search starts with the place of arrest. Enter the county (for example “Harris”), the city’s county, or the jail’s name. Each county page shows either a live roster you can search by name and charge, or the jail’s contact details and lookup steps when no public roster feed is available yet.

  • Not sure which county? Open the state page: every county is listed with its jail page.
  • Arrested very recently? Bookings can take a few hours to appear on a roster.
  • Sentenced to state or federal prison? Those people are listed by the state department of corrections or the Federal Bureau of Prisons, not by county jails.
  • Looking for a prison in the UK or Europe? Search the country or prison name; those pages are visiting and contact guides, because European prisons do not publish inmate lists.
