How Arkansas jails are organized
Each county in Arkansas runs its own jail, and each has its own page here. Little Rock is Pulaski County. Northwest Arkansas — Fayetteville, Springdale, Rogers, Bentonville — splits Washington and Benton counties. Fort Smith is Sebastian. Jonesboro is Craighead. Pine Bluff is Jefferson. Those are five different sheriff jails. Little Rock is the state capital, but arrests are booked in the county where they happen.
County sheriffs run most Arkansas jails. Some regions use shared or contract beds. ADC (Varner, Cummins, East Arkansas) is not a county roster. A night in a city lockup in North Little Rock is not Pulaski’s published list until the county books them. This site currently has live roster pages for 29 of 75 counties (29 jail pages, 5,903 records tracked). The other 46 counties have a jail information page with lookup steps and contacts; until a roster feed is connected, the sheriff or detention center is the official source for who is in custody there.
Finding someone in an Arkansas jail
Arkansas counties vary: some HTML rosters, some vendor portals. There is no single “Arkansas inmate search” that covers all 75 counties. Gaps on this state page are real coverage holes, not empty jails. If you know the county, open its roster above and search by name or charge. If you only know the city of arrest, find which county the city is in first.
Circuit court is the felony court in the county seat. District courts handle smaller matters. Pulaski’s Little Rock courts are not Washington County’s Fayetteville docket. The courthouse and the jail are often in different buildings. Confirm the facility name on the booking paperwork or with the attorney before you travel.
Bond, visits and money in Arkansas
Bond schedules and judicial officers set county practice. Rural counties may use a different bondsman network than Pulaski. Property bonds need Arkansas paperwork. Bond amounts shown on a roster can change after the first court appearance. CurrentPrisonList does not post bail or accept payments.
Hours follow the sheriff. Video vendors differ by county. A Bentonville family should not assume Pulaski’s schedule. Confirm ID and the door, not a Facebook screenshot. Dress codes, video-visit providers and appointment times are set by each jail. Check the sheriff's website on the day of the visit.
Travel and common mistakes in Arkansas
LIT for Pulaski. XNA (Northwest Arkansas National) for Washington and Benton. Fort Smith has its own airport. The Ozark drive is not a Little Rock suburb. Take the jail address from the sheriff's website or from the contact section of the county page, not from a generic map search.
A common mistake: searching “Arkansas jail roster” as one product, or driving to Cummins Unit because the case started in Pine Bluff. ADC is not the county sheriff. Neighboring states have their own state pages on this site.
