How Nevada jails are organized

Each county in Nevada runs its own jail, and each has its own page here. Las Vegas is Clark County — the Clark County Detention Center is the search, not “Vegas city jail” as a synonym. Reno is Washoe County. Carson City is its own independent city-county. Henderson and North Las Vegas still feed Clark. Elko and Nye are rural giants in area, small in roster size. Carson City is the state capital, but arrests are booked in the county where they happen.

Sheriffs run county detention. NDOC (High Desert, Florence McClure, Northern Nevada) is prison. LVMPD booking is the path into Clark County Detention, not a separate public roster forever. This site currently has live roster pages for 2 of 17 counties plus Carson City (2 jail pages, 0 records tracked). The other 15 counties plus Carson City have a jail information page with lookup steps and contacts; until a roster feed is connected, the sheriff or detention center is the official source for who is in custody there.

Bond, visits and money in Nevada

Clark County bail is a 24-hour industry. A Reno bondsman is not a Las Vegas window. First appearance can be fast; the website can lag. Bond amounts shown on a roster can change after the first court appearance. CurrentPrisonList does not post bail or accept payments.

CCDC is downtown Las Vegas logistics, not the Strip. Washoe is a Reno drive. Do not copy Clark’s video vendor onto Elko. Dress codes, video-visit providers and appointment times are set by each jail. Check the sheriff's website on the day of the visit.

Travel and common mistakes in Nevada

LAS for Clark. RNO for Washoe. The I-15 run from Southern California is a Clark County story. A California arrest in San Bernardino is not CCDC. Take the jail address from the sheriff's website or from the contact section of the county page, not from a generic map search.

A common mistake: calling NDOC about a Clark County detainee, or treating Henderson as its own county jail. Neighboring states have their own state pages on this site.
