How to Find an Inmate at USP Canaan
Federal prisoners are listed in the Bureau of Prisons Inmate Locator, not on county jail rosters. Search it by first and last name, or by the eight-digit BOP register number if you have it. A match shows the institution where the person is held and the projected release date.
Visiting, Mail and Money
Each federal institution sets its own visiting schedule and visitor approval steps, and inmate mail must use the mailing address and register-number format the Bureau of Prisons gives for that site, which can differ from the street address above. Check the official page before you travel or send anything.
Local Jail and Police Near USP Canaan
Someone arrested near Waymart by local or state police is first booked into the county jail, not into a federal prison.
