Gävle is the administrative centre and a working port. Sandviken is inland, close to Gävle and still a separate booking. Hudiksvall is the other historic court town of the county. Söderhamn and Bollnäs sit between, which encourages people to pick a midpoint hotel. Midpoints miss gates. Appeals go to Svea hovrätt in Stockholm. The county board and the port authority do not confirm who is detained. Ask them about freight only.
Remand serving these courts may be in a local häkte named on the warrant. Sentenced placement follows classification and often leaves the county for a larger anstalt.
