Uppsala County: how this area actually works
Uppsala is an old legal city: cathedral, university and tingsrätt share the same streets, which makes outsiders treat the courthouse as the prison. It is not. Price the taxi before you promise timing to a child. Östhammar and Tierp are county towns with sparse evening buses. If the establishment is not in central Uppsala, say so when you book the hotel, or you will be staying in the wrong half of the län.
