What HMP Bedford is
HMP Bedford holds adult men as a local prison. It is not Woodhill at Milton Keynes, nor the women’s prison at The Mount.
Historic overcrowding stories attach to Bedford; your practical task is still the correct GOV.UK booking name.
Locating someone at HMP Bedford
HMP Bedford does not publish a landing list. Use GOV.UK Find a prisoner with name and date of birth. HMPPS only confirms the prison if the person consents. If they were in court today, wait until the next working day before you decide the form is wrong.
Visiting HMP Bedford
Book HMP Bedford through the national prison-visits service and the official GOV.UK page. You must already be on the visitor list. Session times change; we only reprint a timetable when we have fetched it from that page.
Getting to Bedford
Bedford station, then a bus along Goldington Road or a taxi. The prison sits on the east side of town.
