Opole voivodeship: custody, visits and Silesian borders

Opole is the small southwestern voivodeship between Lower Silesia and Silesia, seated in the city of Opole. It is not Katowice and not Wrocław, though both are close enough to cause wrong airports. Służba Więzienna does not publish names. A local case may be held here or moved to a larger region’s zakład karny after classification. Ask before you pick the airport by fame.

Opole: how this area actually works

The city is the capital. Kędzierzyn-Koźle, Nysa and Brzeg are other towns, not districts you cross after lunch without checking. Courts are not the prison. The voivodeship office cannot confirm a detainee. German-language history in the region does not make the prison German. sw.gov.pl is the service.

Read the establishment. If it is in this voivodeship, use its town. If it is in Katowice’s Silesia or Wrocław’s Lower Silesia, switch pages. If it is in Warsaw, switch to Masovia. Do not invent one Opole jail from a pin on the old town. Remand and sentenced regimes differ. Women’s placement is on the letter. The smallness of the region is not a single gate. German-language history in the region does not make the gate German. Polish SW rules apply. Ask for an interpreter if you need one. Do not assume a family language will be accepted at the door.

Write Opole the city or the real town. Foreign visitors should ask whether Wrocław, Katowice or Opole is the airport before they pay. If the person is in another voivodeship, go there directly. This region is correct only when the papers say so. Kędzierzyn-Koźle, Nysa and Brzeg are not the market square. Write the town.

Bring a passport if you are foreign. Children need permission and consent. Polish is the working language. Ask for an interpreter. Read the property rules of the correct unit. Choose the airport — Wrocław, Katowice, or a rail-only plan — after the town is known. Fame of the neighbouring airports is not a placement.

Getting around Opole

Opole station is on the main line between Wrocław and Katowice, which is exactly how people overshoot. Use SW’s directions. A pin on the market or the river is not the entrance. The nearest famous airport may not be the nearest useful one.

Add identification time. Stay in the establishment’s town. If the person is in Wrocław or Katowice, do not stop in Opole because the train did. The region is a real authority, not a pause on the Silesian main line. The region is small and still not one building. An areszt and a zakład karny are different regimes, and either may be outside Opole after classification.
