Marche: how this area actually works

Ancona is a port and the regional capital, pressed between hills and the sea. Pesaro, Macerata, Fermo, and Ascoli Piceno are the other provincial capitals. Urbino draws visitors who then look for a gate in a Renaissance palace. The istituto is not the palace and not the ferry quay. Police custody is not the colloquio. DAP may keep someone locally or move them toward Emilia-Romagna, Umbria, or Abruzzo after classification. giustizia.it will not search a surname. Ask the lawyer which address is current before you book a room on the lungomare. The cathedral on the hill is not a visiting room.

Families treat the Adriatic as one coast because Rimini is just north and Pescara is just south. Those cities sit in other regions. A permission for Bologna or for Abruzzo does not open Ancona. Drivers use the A14. A hotel in Urbino or on a beach south of the port is the wrong base unless the papers name that town. Rimini is another region. Leave margin for summer traffic and for the climb inland. Read the municipality twice before you pay, and do not follow a ferry timetable to the gate. Ascoli is not Ancona.
