Hauts-de-France: how this area actually works
Loos, on the western side of Lille, is the giant local families mean, and it is a tram or bus from Lille Flandres or Lille Europe, not a walk from the Grand'Place. Sequedin sits in the same métropole and is not the same gate. Longuenesse, toward Saint-Omer, serves a different slice of the old Nord. Amiens, Arras, Beauvais and Laon are the Picardy and Aisne court towns. Dunkirk and Calais are Channel ports, not a shortcut to Loos. Bapaume is known as a centre de détention in this région, not a Burgundy address. Belgian visitors from Kortrijk, Tournai or Mouscron are common and still need a French permis.
A prévenu from a Lille or Amiens court may need the juge d'instruction before any parloir. A condamné needs the établissement's permis de visite. The DAP can move someone from Loos to Sequedin, to Bapaume, or out of the région toward Île-de-France. Eurostar arrivals do not change that. Belgian prison rules stop at the border. GENESIS is a French internal system, not a Flemish lookup. Amiens, Arras and Laon are Picardy and Aisne journeys, not a Lille tram. Valenciennes and Douai are further Nord towns, not Loos. Lens is not Lille.
This page groups prisons recorded as Hauts-de-France. It does not list people at Loos, Sequedin or Bapaume. Read justice.gouv.fr and the house notice. Do not treat a Lille Europe platform as the gate, and do not continue to Fresnes because Paris was the connecting train. Picardy and the mining basin are one région URL and several different days. Dunkirk and Calais are Channel runs. Longuenesse is another house toward Saint-Omer. Beauvais and Compiegne belong to the Oise, not to the Lille metro. Arras is not Amiens. Lens is not either.
Finding someone held in Hauts-de-France
There is no public roll for Loos-lès-Lille, Sequedin, Amiens, Longuenesse or Bapaume. Ask the lawyer or the greffe. justice.gouv.fr explains the family route without listing names. GENESIS is closed. A remand morning in Lille may still be police custody. Do not phone Loos and expect a name. A Belgian forum is not a French placement. Loos and Sequedin will not confirm a stranger's name. Amiens will not either. Wait for the greffe before you travel. Do not rush the Loos gate.
Loos is not Sequedin, and Bapaume is not Amiens. Dunkirk and Calais are not the métropole. If the letter names Fresnes, Fleury or a Brussels prison, change région or country. The permis must name the French établissement. A Belgian visiting paper will not open Loos. Bapaume, Amiens and Longuenesse are further French addresses, not Belgian ones. Dunkirk and Calais are Channel houses, not a tram from Lille Europe. Sequedin is not Loos, even in the same metro. Check the letter.
Visits and family practicalities
Permission is per house. Remand can add the juge d'instruction in Lille or Amiens. Loos and Sequedin do not share a calendar, and this guide does not invent one. Read the notice before you take the Eurostar or the A1.
Bring the identification required. Phones stay outside. Belgian identity documents help only if they match what the établissement listed. If the person moved to Bapaume or to Île-de-France, the Lille permit fails. Re-check before you leave Lille Flandres.
Getting around Hauts-de-France
Lille Europe and Lille Flandres, the Eurostar, and the TGV from Paris Nord are the usual entries. Loos is a western métropole trip. Sequedin is another west-side address, easy to confuse in the same bus corridor. Amiens is a separate Picard line. Calais and Dunkirk are coastal runs, not a tram from Euralille. Bapaume is a road south of Arras.
Drivers on the A1 and A25 should leave slack for the last urban kilometre around Loos. Parking is tight. Belgian plates do not waive the parloir rules. Use the official French address. Do not finish at the citadel of Lille or at a Channel terminal.
