Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County: how this area actually works
The Bükk mountains stand west of Miskolc, the Zemplén hills rise toward Slovakia in the north-east, and the Tisza and Bodrog lowlands hold Tokaj. Heves and Nógrád lie west, Szabolcs and Hajdú-Bihar south. Slovakia is the long northern border. Rural approaches to institutions are often poorly labelled for visitors who only followed a motorway sign into Miskolc.
