Piedmont prisons: Turin istituti, DAP, and family colloqui

Piedmont is the northwest region, capital Turin, between the Alps and the Po plain. DAP runs the istituti. A public list of who is inside them does not exist.

Piedmont: how this area actually works

Turin is the court city and the industrial capital. Novara, Alessandria, Asti, Cuneo, and Vercelli are the other provincial centres, spread from the rice plains to the alpine valleys. A person arrested in Turin may start in a casa circondariale and later move to a casa di reclusione, or leave the region entirely after classification. Police custody is not the colloquio. giustizia.it will not search a surname. Ask the lawyer which istituto is current before you book a hotel in the Quadrilatero. The Aosta Valley is a separate region whose cases sometimes arrive here, and a French or Swiss prison beyond the passes is another country.

Families mix Turin with Milan because the train is short. Lombardy’s San Vittore and Opera are different gates and a different region. A Piedmont permission dies at those doors. Women and young people may be placed outside the province of arrest. This page is the region. It is not a roll of detenuti. Fiat’s old plants and the Langhe wine roads are not directions. Read the postcode. If the papers name an istituto in Liguria or in the Aosta Valley, change the plan. Community measures served at an address in the city are not a prison visit.

Colloqui need authorisation and identification. This guide copies no orario. The Po fog and the ring road both make people late, and the gate does not extend a slot. Money and parcels follow DAP rules for that house. If the person is released to an address in Nichelino or Moncalieri, confirm release. The regional government cannot add a visitor. Eight provinces do not share one visiting room. Use the town on the letter, then the official last kilometre, not a generic pin for “carcere Torino.” Asti and Cuneo keep their own court days.

Finding someone held in Piedmont

Confirm the istituto with the lawyer or DAP channels. Piedmont is the region. Turin, Novara, and Cuneo are not one address. There is no public name search.

Separate this region from Lombardy and from the Aosta Valley. A border prison in France is a different system. Match the letterhead.

A Turin permission does not open a Milan gate. If DAP moves the person, rebook. Lawyers use their own route. Children follow the istituto’s current rule.

Getting around Piedmont

Porta Nuova and Porta Susa are Turin’s stations, with trains toward Milan, Genoa, and the Aosta Valley. Cuneo, Asti, and Novara have their own links. The istituto is not Piazza Castello. Use official directions for the last kilometres.

Turin airport and Malpensa, over the Lombardy line, both appear in family plans. Drivers use the A4, A21, and A32 toward the Fréjus. A hotel in the centre is wrong when the gate is in another province. Ivrea and Verbania are not Turin. Leave margin for fog, and read the postcode before you pay. Novara’s rice towns and the Langhe are not the gate. A Malpensa hotel is in another region unless the papers already name Lombardy. Do not sleep in Milan because the train looks easy. Keep the permission with the postcode, and leave a spare hour on the ring before the evening fog. Alessandria is not Turin, and Vercelli is not Novara. Read the province twice before you pay today.
