Umbria prisons: Perugia courts, DAP istituti, and colloqui

Umbria is inland, between Tuscany and the Marche, with Perugia as capital and Terni as the other provincial seat. DAP runs the istituti. There is no public list of names.

Umbria: how this area actually works

Perugia sits on a hill above the Tiber valley. Terni is farther south, toward Lazio, and is not a suburb of the capital. Assisi, Orvieto, and Spoleto draw visitors who then assume the gate is in the same stone centre. It is not. A person arrested after a festival weekend is not held in a basilica. Police custody is not the colloquio. DAP assigns an istituto that may be in Perugia, Terni, or another region after classification. giustizia.it will not search a surname. Ask the lawyer which address is current before you book a room inside the Etruscan walls. The aqueduct walk is not a visiting path.

Families treat Umbria as a quiet corner of Tuscany or of Rome because the trains are short. A Tuscan permission and a Lazio permission do not open an Umbrian gate. A Perugia permission does not open Terni. Lawyers use their own route. If DAP moves the person, rebook before you climb the hill again.

Getting around Umbria

Perugia has a station below the centre, and the airport at Sant’Egidio is small. Terni is on the Rome–Ancona line. Many families change at Florence or Rome. The istituto is not the corso. Use official directions.

Drivers use the E45 and the motorway toward Orte. A hotel inside Assisi or on the Orvieto rock is the wrong base unless the papers name that town. Rome is another region. Leave margin for hill traffic. Read the municipality twice before you pay, and do not follow a pilgrimage map to the gate. Spoleto’s festival is not the visit. Leave the afternoon clear of the basilicas, and keep the permission with the postcode before the evening bus down from the centre. Gubbio and Todi are not the gate. A hotel in Assisi fails when the papers name Terni. Do not sleep in Rome because the train looks easy. Leave a spare hour on the hill road today, and read the province twice before you pay. The Tiber valley is not the centro storico. Narni is not Terni.
