Community of Madrid prisons: Soto del Real, Valdemoro, SGIP

The Community of Madrid is its own autonomous community, not a province of Castile. Soto del Real and Valdemoro are different SGIP centros. Neither publishes a list of who is inside.

Community of Madrid: how this area actually works

Madrid the city is the capital of Spain and of this community. Soto del Real, north of the city, and Valdemoro, to the south, are the two centros penitenciarios families have to stop confusing. Other SGIP centres serve the same judicial area and are not optional synonyms. A numeral in a name, Madrid III or Madrid V, is part of the address. institucionpenitenciaria.es explains comunicaciones and will not search a surname. The regional government does not either. Ask the lawyer which centre before you pick a hotel in Sol. The metro map is not a prison map. Classification moves people between these centres and sometimes out of the community.

Castilla-La Mancha and Castile and León wrap the community, so a Guadalajara or Segovia address can echo Madrid. The autonomous community on the letter is the correction. Catalonia’s Brians is another country of paperwork inside the same state: Generalitat, not SGIP. Do not carry a Madrid habit to Sant Joan Despí. Women and young people may be in a different centro from the men’s house in the headline. This page matches prisons recorded as the Community of Madrid, including Soto del Real and Valdemoro. It is not a roll of internos. A release to an address in Vallecas or Alcobendas ends the visit plan. Confirm status the week you travel.

Comunicaciones require authorisation, identification, and punctuality. This guide does not copy session grids. Cercanías plus a taxi is the usual pattern, and the taxi needs the official entrance, not a town hall. Money and parcels follow SGIP rules. A permission for Soto del Real will not open Valdemoro. If the person transfers, start again. International relatives landing at Barajas still need the approval before they leave the airport. The Prado is not a meeting plan that survives a missed slot in the northern municipalities. Sol is not either campus at all.

Finding someone held in Community of Madrid

Confirm the centro with SGIP or the lawyer. The Community of Madrid matches prisons recorded under that name. It does not list detainees in Soto del Real or Valdemoro.

Soto del Real and Valdemoro are different municipalities. Brians is in Catalonia. A Manchegan centro is another community. Match the papers.

Visits and family practicalities

Use institucionpenitenciaria.es for the named Madrid centro. This page prints no hours. Bring DNI or passport as instructed.

Authorisation is per centre. A family comunicación is not a lawyer visit. If the slot is cancelled, only the centro can replace it. Children follow the official rule.

Getting around Community of Madrid

Atocha and Chamartín are the long-distance stations. Cercanías C-4 serves the Valdemoro direction. The A-1 runs north toward Soto del Real’s municipality. Neither campus is a metro stop in the centre. Use the official last-kilometre note and a local taxi.

Barajas is inside the community. Drivers face the M-30 and M-40. A hotel in Sol is convenient only when you have already planned the suburban leg. Read the municipality. Alcalá de Henares, Getafe, and Aranjuez are not the two centres named above unless the letter says so. Leave margin for ring-road traffic. Alcobendas, Getafe, and Aranjuez are not Soto del Real or Valdemoro unless the letter says so. Read the municipality twice before you pay for the night. Sol is not either campus, and Alcalá is not Valdemoro. Leave a spare hour on the ring before the evening rush.

Questions families actually ask

Are Soto del Real and Valdemoro the same prison?
No. They are different SGIP centros in different municipalities of the Community of Madrid. Match the name on the papers.
Can I search Madrid inmates online?
No. SGIP does not publish a public roster. The centro or the lawyer confirms placement.
Does Catalonia use these Madrid centres?
Catalan prisons, including Brians, are under the Generalitat. Madrid SGIP centros are a different administration and a different booking.
