Valencian Community prisons: Valencia, Alicante, SGIP visits

The Valencian Community runs from the Ebro delta hills to Alicante, capital Valencia. Its prisons are SGIP centros, not Catalan Generalitat centres. There is no public name list.

Valencian Community: how this area actually works

Valencia is the capital and the largest court city. Alicante and Castellón de la Plana are the other provincial capitals. SGIP runs the centros penitenciarios as state establishments. The Generalitat Valenciana is a regional government. It is not the Catalan Generalitat that runs Brians. That similarity of title is a classic wrong website. justicia.gencat.cat does not book a Valencian centro, and a Valencian page does not book Brians. institucionpenitenciaria.es is the SGIP route. It will not search a surname. Police custody in the Carmen or in Benidorm is not the centre. Ask the lawyer which centro before you choose Valencia Nord or Alicante terminal as the end of the day.

Murcia, to the south, is another community. Catalonia, to the north, is another administration. A Castellón case is not a Tarragona case. A Benidorm arrest is not an Alicante centro until the papers say so, and it is not a Murcia centro either. Women and young people may be placed outside the province of arrest. This page matches the community. It does not list internos. Orange groves and the City of Arts are not gates. International relatives are common on this coast and still need Spanish authorisation. The language of a holiday letting is not the language of the file.

Comunicaciones require identification and prior approval. This guide copies no hours. The A-7 in summer is why people miss slots that looked close on a map. Money and parcels follow SGIP rules. A permission for a Valencia centre will not open an Alicante one, and neither will open Brians. If the person is released to an address in Elche or Sagunto, confirm release. Three provinces do not share one visiting room. Read the postcode. The regional government cannot add a visitor on the morning of the train. Check the province.

Finding someone held in Valencian Community

Confirm the centro with SGIP or the lawyer. The Valencian Community is not Catalonia and not Murcia. There is no public inmate search.

Valencia, Alicante, and Castellón are three provinces. Brians is a Catalan centre under a different administration. Match the letterhead.

Visits and family practicalities

Use institucionpenitenciaria.es for a Valencian SGIP centro. Do not use the Catalan justice site. This page prints no timetable.

Bring DNI or passport. Permissions are per centre. If the person moves, rebook. Lawyers have their own route. A family comunicación is authorised, not improvised at the gate.

Getting around Valencian Community

Valencia Nord, Alicante, and Castellón are the rail cities, with AVE toward Madrid and connections along the Mediterranean. Airports at Manises and Alicante-Elche take the flights. The centro is not the beach and not the station. Use official directions.

Drivers use the A-7, A-3, and AP-7. August traffic is the hazard. A hotel in Benidorm is the wrong base for a Valencia gate, and a Valencia hotel is wrong for Alicante. Elche and Gandia are not the capitals. Read the province, leave margin, and keep Catalonia as a separate journey if the papers change. Elche, Gandia, and Sagunto are not the same centro. Benidorm is not Alicante’s gate by default. Gandia and Sagunto are not Valencia. A Tarragona trip is Catalonia. Leave time on the A-7 in August. Elche is not Valencia, and a Catalan permission will not open a centro in this community. Read the province twice before August traffic on the A-7 eats the slot. Elche is not Castellón or Valencia.
